We’re very pleased to announce our latest signing, the wonderful Hackney Colliery Band! This incredible 9-piece brass band having been ripping up Wah Wah dance floors for a couple of months now with their awesome live shows, and unique takes on 90s hip hop classics, Balkan bangers and soft rock favourites, as well as their own skillfully penned original material. Their debut single, a version of ODB’s “Money” (with a little bit of Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” thrown in for good measure) has already received support from Gilles Peterson on Radio 1, and comes complete with original cut “What’s The Time Mr. Wasp?” on the flip. Out soon on 7-inches of black gold, and available digitally of course, with more to come… Look out for their debut headline gig at The Jazz Cafe on May 7th!
