Following on from a rework from Tru Thoughts artist, DJ and producer WheelUp, which gained support from Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 6 Music, Italian duo Bayaka have taken on the politically charged Afrobeat anthem to give it their trademark twist. Known for delivering exceptional Afro House tracks and curating meaningful sets that ignite dance floors, Bayaka have masterfully reimagined Eparapo‘s timeless classic, “From London and Lagos” to create something of a dance floor monster.
Blending organic sound elements with inventive electronic techniques, the Italian duo preserve the original’s heartfelt and exploratory spirit and Dele Sosimi’s illustrious vocals at the core of their remix. Inspired by a deep connection to the earth’s pulse and journeys across the globe, their dynamic reinterpretation brims with ardour and groove. By infusing captivating Afro rhythms with ethereal melodic motifs and raw electronic fluctuations, Bayaka perpetuates the very essence of “From London and Lagos,” effortlessly bridging the boundaries of time and space through the sheer power of music.
